Buyers’ Slice Realty was born, in 2009, out of the realization that industry fee structures for real estate were not keeping up with how home buyers do business. It seemed the internet had changed everything… except for the fees paid to buyer agents! The reality is more self-directed buyers are actually beginning to forego the services of a full-service agent. Buyers’ Slice Realty, offering only the services you need, is essentially “unbundling” the offerings of the traditional full-service buyer’s agent. And make no mistake about it, although real estate commissions are deducted from the seller’s proceeds, buyers are paying for them by way of a higher sale price.
Under our model, you (the buyer) are very active in the search process. Sure, we can help, particularly with getting you access to listings that meet your parameters, but we empower you to find the right property. With Buyers’ Slice Realty, you are paying for our expertise and diligence relative to the offer, paperwork, and closing. We offer you a rebate, which is essentially a refund, not because we reduce the quality of service but because we believe that you should be rewarded for your involvement in the process. Forget the bottle of wine at closing from your neighborhood real estate agent (or REALTOR®), we know what consumers really value…cash in hand!
Another way Buyers’ Slice differentiates itself from other agents is with our personality. No nagging agents in need of explanations… and you will never feel pressured into any deal. In fact, the decision on which property to buy is, and should be, yours and yours alone. No pressure here. Just tells us which house you want to pursue, and we will handle the negotiations, paperwork, and closing! Once you decide to make an offer on a particular property, you should expect to receive the very same level of service you would from a traditional broker.
A Word About Our Founder Tommy Lorden Managing Broker
Buyers’ Slice founder Tommy Lorden loves to fly fish. In fact, that is one reason he moved his young family to Colorado from Illinois in 2009. Born and raised in Rockford, IL, Tommy attended the University of Illinois, and then spent three years in Chicago where he received a law degree from the prestigious Chicago-Kent College of Law. Now living in Boulder with his wife and four children, Tommy also does some real estate investment of his own, so he very much knows the buy side of real estate.

Katie Schlickman Associate Broker
Katie has been with Slice since 2016, and loves to work with self-directed buyers of both new construction and existing homes. Katie is an expert in the Denver area, and lives there herself, but has done deals across the entire Front Range from the Colorado Springs area in the south, to the Fort Collins area up north. Katie is a great collaborator, and enjoys putting together deals on the terms her clients are seeking.

Madalene is a top producing Realtor® with Buyers’ Slice Realty. Maddie began her real estate career as a marketing consultant advising Realtors® on technology to sell their listings faster and for more money. Maddie became licensed as a real estate broker in 2021, using her marketing knowledge to advise sellers, with an initial focus in the pre-foreclosure market. Serving buyers and sellers with her expert knowledge has been “a dream come true.” Maddie’s passion and purpose is advising clients to achieve their real estate goals. She is a certified short sale & foreclosure resource, and specializes in listing property. Maddie enjoys working with both self directed and full service buyers.
